An exceptional limited production Chardonnay from the cool climate Upper Hemel-en-Aarde Valley. Light shines through this pale yellow wine with vibrant acidity and a strong backbone of minerality with delicate notes of Granny Smith apple, fresh-cut melon, and green pear.

An energetic tension leaves one with the impression of a future filled with lemon zest and lemon curd. Excellent aging potential.

The Chardonnay 2022 dances with the vibrant essence of sun-kissed oranges, delicate freesia blossoms, and the zesty embrace of lime cordial, all swirling gracefully around the senses. It culminates in a very nice length and finish, with flavours of fresh whipped lemon curd, acacia honey, and freshly cut hay. This vintage exudes freshness and finesse, balanced with concentration and depth.

The initial aromas are buttered melba toast, peat, and spice but slowly reveal apricot, peach and yellow apple with a sea spray top note. There is a light, almost ethereal nature to it. The palate shows riper stone fruit mingled with crushed almonds, all threaded with a spirited acidity. The mid-palate is clean and precise, with a subtle jasmine florality that extends to the long finish.
