Whalehaven Wines is thrilled to announce that its 2022 Seascape Reserve Chardonnay has been awarded a Gold Medal and 95/100 points at the prestigious Investec Trophy Wine Show 2025. This accolade secures the wine’s position among the finest white wines in South Africa and underscores the winery’s dedication to excellence in cool-climate Chardonnay.

Coming from the Upper Hemel?en?Aarde Valley, the 2022 Seascape Reserve showcases Whalehaven’s trademark elegance: bright citrus notes, seamless oak integration, and a refined saline minerality that reflects its coastal origins. The wine, made under the watchful guidance of winemakers Richard Kershaw and Dudley Wilson, spent 10 months in oak, providing structure without overwhelming the vibrant fruit purity.

This award follows a series of recent international honours for Whalehaven, including multiple gold medals, top-tier ratings, and global recognition in Chardonnay competitions. The Trophy Wine Show, known for its rigorous judging standards and large field of entries, serves as a benchmark for quality in the South African wine industry.
